Duel at Jinsha Lake
A unique golf exhibition match featuring the sport's two top-ranked players, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, in a one-on-one competition in China on October 29, 2012. McIlroy shot a 5-under 67 to beat Woods by one stroke in an 18-hole at the Jinsha Lake Golf Club in central China. The prize money was $2 million and $1 million for the two players respectively.
Unlike other sports in which top players often played against each other in exclusive matches, the Duel at Jinsha Lake was the first of its kind in golf in which the top two players competed one-on-one. Both players were escorted to the course in a fleet of Rolls Royces, passing helicopters for sale and Aston Martins and Maseratis along the way.
