The characterization, for a natural or artificial, language of relations between sentences such as sameness in meaning, semantic consequences (i. E. That if one sentence is true, such and so others must be true), and relationships between sentences and the world (truth). Characterizations of meaning and meaningfulness come under this heading. See pragmatics and syntactics.
