A force limiter in the safety belt system on current Audi models reduces the force applied by the safety belt on the occupant. Above a predetermined belt load, a torsion bar in the retractor deforms or a special seam in the belt webbing tears open. The system pays out belt webbing at this predefined belt load. The maximum shoulder belt load is reduced so that the occupant will be more gently restrained by the belt and airbag and the loadings on the head and chest will also be reduced.

Bluetooth is the name of a group of wireless technology standards that allows different types of electronic devices to interact via short-range radio waves. Within the standard are several subgroups or "profiles" for specific device interactions, such as phone call handling or fax data transfer. Not all Bluetooth - enabled devices include the same profiles. The Audi phone preparation with Bluetooth system utilizes the Hands Free Profile 1.0.
Note: Your Audi vehicle may be equipped with a phone preparation utilizing a Bluetooth interface to enable hands-free functionality (compatible mobile phones sold separately). You will need a Bluetooth - enabled mobile phone in order to utilize this function. Not all Bluetooth - enabled mobile phone models are compatible with Audi's phone preparation. However, most phones should have some level of functionality in the car refer to www.audiusa.com/bluetooth (link below) or contact your local Audi dealer for the latest listing of compatible phones.

Sufficiently high static and dynamic body stiffness is the prerequisite for many vehicle characteristics. Minimum body vibration is the basis for optimum freedom from transmitted noise and harshness. Keeping internal body movement to a minimum contributes to road holding, cornering and better handling characteristics.

The brake assist system helps in an emergency braking situation when the driver can’t push the brake pedal hard enough. A sensor recognizes the attempt at full braking and transmits the signal calling for full brake pressure from the hydraulic booster. The advantage: braking distance is significantly reduced.
Industry:Automotive
The force that a driver can exert on the brake pedal may not always be enough to fully apply the vehicle’s brakes. A booster attached directly to the master brake cylinder remedies this problem by using the partial vacuum inside the engine via a diaphragm to apply additional braking force. This makes the brakes easier and more comfortable to apply.
Industry:Automotive
A vehicle's brakes must be matched to its power, weight, and top speed. Standard equipment in the brake systems of today’s Audi models are an anti-lock brake system (ABS), a brake booster, and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD).
