An analytical or mechanical phototriangulation adjustment in which photo-graphs are fitted together in such a way that radials are deformed as little as possible.

(1) A ratio between the distance between two points on an image and the distance, projected orthogonally onto the plane of the image, between the corresponding points on the object. (2) A ratio between the angular size of an image as seen by the unaided eye and the angular size as seen with an optical instrument. If the distance or size is expressed in linear units such as millimeters, the ratio is called linear magnification. If it is expressed in angular units such as radians, it is called angular magnification.
