Al Hirschfeld

An American caricaturist who possessed a distinctive style and was most famed for including the name of his daughter, Nina, into all of his drawings. As this gimmick became more and more popular and a large portfolio had been created, the US Army started to use Al's drawings to train US bomber pilots, honing their ability to spot small hidden details. Al was reportedly not happy with this use of his work, as he disliked the idea of being indirectly responsible for pain or deaths.

Al died in New York on January 20th 2003, aged 99 years old.
